We’re excited to announce the release of 2Printer 11, a major update to our command-line batch printing tool. This new version delivers smarter, faster printing with features like automatic color detection for each page and optimized handling of large raster images. It also adds support for popular new file formats and introduces advanced enhancements for CAD drawings and barcode printing, making routine printing tasks simpler and more efficient.
What's new in 2Printer 11
Smart color detection
2Printer can now automatically detect whether a document is color or grayscale and applies optimal print settings — eliminating the need for manual configuration (see setting Color mode: As in document).
Improved performance when printing large-format raster images
Version 11 significantly boosts performance for huge raster graphics. Using the new GPHelper print engine, 2Printer handles very large images (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, etc.) much faster and without errors.
New supported formats
2Printer can batch print Apple Numbers (*.numbers), Markdown (*.md), Lotus Word Pro (*.lwp), and eXperimental Computing Facility (*.xcf) files.
Improved processing of CAD drawings and printing barcodes
eDrawings 2025 API is now supported for CAD files processing, and configuration to batch print barcodes is now available directly from the command line, so you can include barcodes directly in batch print jobs.
2Printer 11 also includes many other under-the-hood enhancements and bug fixes (see the full release notes for details). To learn more, visit the program's news page.
