It’s time for the first FolderMill update of the year!
Ability to merge, split and compress PDF files, inserting new pages to the beginning of a document, adding crop marks to printed PDFs or images and more features have been added. With the latest FolderMill, you have more options to set up automated document or image processing in your company. Below is an overview of what’s available in this release:
What’s new in FolderMill 4.4
Merge PDF or TIFF files
With the new FolderMill 4.4, there are more ways to merge your PDFs or TIFFs. Not only can you append pages to PDF or TIFF (add to the end of existing file), but also prepend them. This means inserting pages to the beginning of documents, e.g. title pages. So now you have 4 options to automatically work with PDF or TIFF files - FolderMill can join, split, add new pages or just keep them as is.
Reduce file size of your PDFs
If you work with PDF files, you know how they can become very large if they contain graphics and images. Luckily, we’ve added a new compression function, which can mean big savings in the size of multiple PDF files. Just try shrinking PDFs via this function in order to free up your disk or cloud storage space. We got 56% average file size reduction during our tests, but it depends on the structure and size of each particular PDF.
Print crop marks on PDF or image files
An additional feature for Print Document Action - now you can add crop marks on prints. They can be automatically placed on PDFs, images or even other files. Trim marks are thin lines corners of an image or a page. They'll help your visually define where the paper should be cut after printing.
Other improvements include:
- Selectable paper size for cover pages
- Excluding subfolders from processing
- Improved paper size detection for Filter by Paper Size Action
- Improved Add text or watermark Action parameters
- Improved log file processing
- Improved Windows 10 menu icons and new Action icons
- Fixed binary and dynamic library files (.exe, .dll)
- Fixed Convert to XPS plugin
- Fixed paper size format display in Filter by paper size Action
