Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP Windows
95, 98, ME,
NT, 2000, XP

Graphics Open and Save dialog is a toolkit that can be implemented into another application and give it functionality of opening and saving image files.

Opening file

Besides fields standard for open file dialog, Graphics Open and Save dialog shows thumbnail (smaller image) of selected graphics file and information about this file. Some file formats, such as TIFF, JPEG, PSD and some others, may contain ready thumbnail. Graphics Open and Save dialog will show thumbnail, if it is available, otherwise thumbnail will be created.
Information about image file contains file size, image size, color depth and other general information, and also information from EXIF block, if available. EXIF block may be present in files in TIFF and JPEG format, created by modern digital cameras.
If file is successfully opened, user will get HBITMAP, created from selected file. This HBITMAP can be shown, analyzed and processed by application that uses Graphics Open and Save dialog.

Saving file

Besides fields standard for save file dialog, Graphics Open and Save dialog allows to select to which format to save file and specify settings for selected format. You should give Graphics Open and Save dialog HBITMAP as input. It will be converted to file in selected format. Click here to view all available settings.

Easy to use

Graphics Open and Save dialog is very easy to use. Dialogs use HBITMAP handle as input and output and even novice developer can learn how to work with HBITMAP handle. The only thing you you need to do is to process HBITMIP, all the rest will do Graphics Open and Save dialog.
